New snow over the last week has made a thin 50cm base in the NSW backcountry.
Buried surface hoar is still present at 6cm and 20 cm. We were getting easy results on the 6cm layer but medium results on the 20cm layer. We will continue to monitor the buried surface hoar.
The top layer of s now is becoming cohesive and will continue with the warm weather coming this week.
The regional danger rating is low.
There has been snow depths measured around the main range in the lee slopes of 170cm.
be carefull on these loaded slopes, a size 2.5 slab avalanche was skiier triggered during the week on mt Bogong.
