Mission Statement
To raise awareness and educate youth in decision making about backcountry travel and avalanche safety by providing age appropriate courses in Australia.
Snow Safety Australia delivers a slightly modified version of the Avalanche Canada AST 1 drawing on our experience and feedback from the youth in order to maximise interaction and engagement. We have integrated the one-day Avalanche Awareness Courses into Snow Safety Australia’s curriculum to raise awareness and prepare these youths for the AST 1 course.
The youth courses are provide free by Snow Safety Australia to Student in the Jindabyne Area.
If your school would like to get involves please contact us
We also offer AST1 courses to schools with students in years 11-12. let us know if you are interested.
